Welcome to the Re/New Festival!

What is Re/New Fest?

The Re/New Festival is a three-day event drawing together community members who are interested in Kenora's sustainable economic, social, and environmental development.

  • a two-day series of workshops on the creation of sustainable, affordable housing. These workshops are aimed at professionals, policy-makers, and community groups working in the area of affordable housing
  • a Saturday community festival, a celebration of local initiatives related to economic, social and environmental sustainability. It will be held in and around Beatty Park in Keewatin. All community members are invited to this family-friendly, fun, informative day.

What are our goals?

Re/New Fest is about identifying and showcasing pre-existing skills and knowledge within our community, and using these assets to create a healthy, vibrant local economy based on diversity and interconnection. It is also about having fun as a community, celebrating our strengths, our wisdom, and our resilience while building capacity for a bright future.

Re/New Fest will be a forum for exchanging ideas, for learning about sustainable living, for connecting with groups and individuals who share the common vision of a sustainable future for Kenora.

We anticipate that Re/New Fest will launch an on-going seminar / speaker / workshop series surrounding sustainability issues and it is our hope that working groups will emerge to take on projects of importance to our whole community.
